My neutered males have massive ball sacs!! Photo attached

My male cats were neutered at about 5.5 months. They are now 9 months but their ball sacs haven't shrunk at all. To the point I was questioning if they had even been neutered. I have checked and they're empty!

Will they eventually shrink?

All the neighbours will be horrified at the apparently unneutered cats wandering around.

They won't shrink but the rest of your cat will grow so they'll appear smaller.

They’ll be horrified if they find out you checked their empty 🤨

Id keep that quiet.

Oh I know!! I was all ready to accuse the vet of not doing it so thought I should have a bit of a check!

How did they take to you checking? Do you still have all of your fingers?!

Pearfacebanana · 10/12/2022 22:09

Am
I right in thinking they used to remove the sacs years ago and now they don't?

Plump82 · 10/12/2022 22:40

My male cat is exactly the same. He was neutered at 4 months and they looked enormous. He's now enormous and they look much smaller.

Poor puss, does he have any idea his non ball sack has been posted on tinter-web. He could be in line for some compensation.

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 10/12/2022 22:48

Our striped lad had huge balls before he was neutered as a kitten, and still had a sizeable sack on show afterwards. Even now he’s an adult (he’s actually 15) he still has the empty sacks a-flapping in the breeze.

I think because his scrotum is much darker compared to his grey legs it makes it stand in stark relief & is more noticeable, it’s only when strangers first meet him & ask if he’s neutered we have to say no, the potato sack looks full but the spuds have long since vanished!

It's very normal. Both my males are neutered and looked similar at that age. It all evens out as they grow Grin

Oh how odd. This is my first boy cat, so I didn't know much about males. He's mostly white and looked as if had 2 large boiled eggs attached to him. I couldn't help but laugh when I first got him. He was 2 years old a homeless street cat, so had the full equipment.
We had him neutered 4 days later, and now, 6 years on I can't see anything at all there. It's just flat.

dubyalass · 11/12/2022 18:30

My neighbour used to refer to it as "having their furry pockets picked" which still makes me laugh now.

Peedoffo · 12/12/2022 03:09

My Dcat had this it looks smaller as they grow. I was slightly perplexed they leave the empty sacs ? Dcat has just saggy empty sacs at the age of 7 🤣🤣🤣😩😩
