6 month old cat peeing on my bed and clothes

My beloved 16 year old car died in an accident and few months ago at 12 weeks old and he settled in great.
He used his litter box perfectly and seemed fine.
The past few weeks I have discovered he has been peeing on my sons bed and rug, my bed and on clothes.
I have locked him out of the bedrooms but he gets in if a door is left ajar for a min and has then peed on my bed again.
He goes outside and comes back, I've tried all kinds of litter, he is fed well, his box is cleaned all the time.
There have been no changes to the house hold or stressful incidents for him to develop this behaviour so I'm at a loss.
I came home from work today to find my bed soaking again and I'm at my wits end.
The house stinks of cat pee and working full day time and having an small child, I am spending my downtime endlessly washing.
Please help and advise thanks

What are you using to clean the pee?
if he still smells his scent he will go again.
my cat was peeing on a spot on the carpet and my son’s chair- i got some wee away spray- it neutralises the smell of wee so it shouldn’t attract them to the spot again.

Is he neutered? I think it probably isn't to do with that (ie sexual frustration) but if he isn't neutered then that is the first thing to eliminate (and of course it needs doing anyway).

Does he have outside access?

Mine did a massive wee on our bed this morning and it’s a uti. No temp, no lethargy or not eating 🤷🏻‍♀️

She’s got antibiotics now.

I am in this situation too with my young cat and in fact started a thread myself before I saw this. I am interested to see what people have to say.

How are you cleaning the pee?
Is he neutered? I assume so if he's going outside?
How many litter trays do you have?
What style of tray and what types of litter have you tried?
Has he been checked over at the vet for UTI or crystals, or pain that means using the tray could be difficult for him?
