Minor change of food

Madam likes pouches Felix or whiskas in jelly. Historically she hasn’t been fussy at all and will eat pretty much anything (though she will never have duck again after the stench she left in the litter tray). In fact she is a proper scoffer having been a very hungry and thin rescue a couple of years ago. However I bought chunks instead of shreds and we are now on Day 3 of refusal. She eats about 40-50% and licks off a lot of jelly when I am not looking but she seems to mean it. She still has biscuits so won’t starve but I have another 37 pouches of the bloody stuff. I’ve never experienced this with previous mogs, how long do cats usually take to accept the change?

Dcat is incredibly fussy. She came to us from a rescue a year ago on whiskers as good as it gets, she went off the tuna, then all of them! We moved on to Sheba which she went off then purina pouches and now we are on gourmet tins. Even with those she goes on and off flavors. Chicken was out a few weeks ago, now she will eat that but doesn’t like salmon anymore🤷‍♀️

Dcat will not accept a cat food she doesn’t like. She will cry, headbutt us, she nips DH on the legs but not me, anything really until we give in and offer an alternative🤣🤣 Cats always win in my limited experience.

I know a lot of cat owners through work so take any spare food in to work for anyone that wants it.

In my experience? Never. They like what they like and you can't force them to decide otherwise.

Donate the food to your local cat charity or offer it on Facebook instead.

My cats won't eat any wet food they don't like. My local tesco has a deposit point for pet food and I have donated a lot to it over the years
