Where's all the wood pellet litter?

Minor problem I know. I've been looking all week for wood pellet cat litter, Tesco, ASDA, Aldi, home bargains. Have tried to click and collect from pets at home, none available

We've moved house and need to keep the cats in, so going through lots more litter than usual. Finally got some overpriced in Amazon as I'm running out of options.

I wonder why it's in short supply? Is wood being sold as logs instead. Just seemed a bit strange.

Ukraine did a lot of wood processing, that's why timber prices have shot up too

Have a look for wood solid fuel pellets. It's the same thing but you pay only 5% VAT. You do usually need to bulk buy but if you have a shed or other suitable storage it is well worth it. Especially if prices are rising. I'm still going through a crate I bought years ago to use for stable bedding that didn't work out. Used for cat litter instead but the pile of sacks isn't going down much as it's a great odour free litter that lasts.

Zooplus. I can still get ours on there, though some sizes are out of stock.

We live rural... I get my pellets from a local livestock-food supplier. Delivered, too.

Some coal and log suppliers sell it

Fewer imports and more going to the fuel market as people fire up their wood fired stoves

Try a livestock place - I know someone who uses it as horse bedding. Big bags only (about 30-40 litres I think) but the same stuff.
