Best air freshener/furniture freshener when you have cats

So someone has peed indoors..... I don't think it's either of my ladies, who have 2 litter trays at their disposal (as well as the garden), but as the window and/or door is open a good deal of the time, I do get one of the other cats from the street in. A microchip cat flap is being sorted, so that's not the problem.

The problem is that the house pongs. I have found a couple of things that have been peed on (a bin and a carrier bag), but I am trying to find where else has been peed on.

In the meantime, what's the best, catsafe air freshener I can use? I would use essential oils like lavender, but I know how bad that is for cats (and cat gas masks are really expensive on eBay).

Any recommendations?

You need an enzymatic cleaner. These don't just hide the smell, the actively break down the stinky chemicals. It's really important, because the cats will smell the pee and associate the area as somewhere that its OK to go.

Simple Solution is the one I use. Be very liberal - literally slosh it everywhere: www.amazon.co.uk/Simple-Solution-Stain-Odour-Remover/dp/B005GO2VX4/ref=pd_lpo_2?pd_rd_i=B005GO2VX4&th=1
