Cat suddenly my best mate but hates everyone else

We have two cats, she 3. Had them since 10 weeks old. Sisters from the same litter.

They've always been very even tempered. Wanted space but friendly too.

But in the last few months one cat has suddenly become devoted to me. Always next to me. Tries to sleep next to me. As soon as I sit down, she's on my knee. But she's also very aggressive with the DC and DH. Scratches and bites whenever they come near. She bit DS (age 8) really badly yesterday - very close to his face.

Amy advice as to what might be happening and how I should react? I've been telling her off and removing her from me. But I'm not sure that's the right thing.

I've had a dozen cats over the years and never had this issue

First thought is she's stressed about something...can you give her a private space and get some feliway in?

Second, less likely thought, could she be picking up on a health issue from you?

Thirdly...vet check up, just in case.

And finally, how badly was your boy injured? Cat bites can be very nasty so if the skins broken I'd consider a Dr apt.

It's punctured the skin so I've followed the NHS advice and watching like a hawk.

Urine infection? My cat when I was a kid turned into a nut case with everyone except my mum when it was sick!
