Can you help me think of a B name?

We already have a big black panther called Bones, so I kinda wanted to continue the theme with a B name for our girl.

DD1 wants Bean and hates Bear.
DD2 wants Bear and hates Bean.

I suggested Boots and got the stink eye from both Grin. The debate has been ongoing since Wednesday.

Does anyone have any suggestions for B names? She's the runt of the litter and very small for her age. She's quite feisty and doesn't seem to be scared or shy of anything, walking around like she rules the roost after 3 days, but also very sweet and already has our boy rubbing noses and curling up around her to sleep.

Please save her from being called "the kitten" for another week... Blush

Think Bea is perfect.

If not I do like Boot but Bumble, Box, Bump, Bronx, Brum

Thank you all 😊 so many great suggestions!

LOVE Bo / Beau, really suits her and it's perfect because I'm a bit of an archer so kind of a play on bow 🏹

Would it be totally unreasonable to just tell them since we can't decide on a name we all like, Mum is making an executive decision? Perks of being the one who cleans the litter tray, surely? 😂

Yeah clearing put the litter tray definitely gives you first dibbs on the name!

SouthOfFrance · 28/08/2022 23:06

Beau/Bo/Bow sounds perfect too, especially with the archery connection

Beau is lovely but then it's similar to Bo - nes when you say it, They definitely do learn their names!

This is very true. He definitely knows his name. Was thinking since we usually call him Bones-y when we're fussing over him, or Boh-hones (trying to type that little dip / inflection(?) and probably failing) it might be okay?

I wouldn't go with anything similar, our cats came from the rescue with rhyming names and everyone calls them the wrong name, they both end up being "Beau, Bones, whatever your name is". This has gone on for 10 years now.

Grin

Did think of something like this as Bones is a bit ironic (considering they're white while he's black as the void) but irony is still a bit lost on the youngest DD.

Love boys names on girls, actually suggested Bert along with Blair and Brick and Binx and Buck and it was the oldest one having kittens that time 🤣

So Bo / Beau is the favourite but if it doesn't work due to too much confusion then executive decision will be Bea I think.

Photo attached. Collar looks huge but was only on the first day so they'd both know where the other one was (and because I was paranoid she'd be shy and we'd lose her - needn't have worried 🤣).
