Very much loved cat won't go home

Last year we had new neighbours move in. For context our garden backs on to an alleyway and their garden is the other side of the alleyway. We have two cats, both now 2 years old. Neither were leaving the garden at that point (DH had attempted to cat proof the garden 😂) they also have a cat, same age. He found his way in to the garden and loved my two. (Spoke to the owner so I know how old he is) he just wants to play with with my two. My girl is very dramatic, when her brother wants to play she screams 😂 anyway, this cat won't leave us alone. We don't deliberately feed him, but we don't have a cat flap so our doors are open all day. My two are in over night, but I'm really worried about this one, we wake up in the morning and he's scratching at the door like he lives here! He's a lovely cat, thinks he's boss though. My two are scared of him. What should I do? 😬

Keep squirting him with water, he'll soon get the message.

Is he coming in during the day and eating your cats food?

I think you need to get a microchip cat flap - or micro ship activated food bowls.

talk to the neighbour - is he kept in at all? Does he have a car flap and is he free to roam day and night? Are they feeding him enough?

he is probably just looking for company.

When my cats are out, the only food that's down is biscuits. He doesn't like cat biscuits. We also have gerbils and he loves watching them. I feed my cats wet food for breakfast and they have biscuits all day, I only feed them again when they come home I won't squirt him with water. I also don't want a cat flap 😔 maybe a cat flap is the way forward, mine are both chipped so that would work. I just don't want them out over night 😂 #sadcatmum

I have an amazing cat flap that links to my phone.

I can set a curfew every night so she can only come inside but not out after a certain time.

I can also remotely lock her if I am away from home and i see the weather has turned nasty.

There's your answer - a tasty snack is dancing before his eyes. The feline equivalent of a Chinese takeaway and full-fat Coke when you've a massive hangover. No wonder he is mesmerised. Can you move the gerbils to somewhere he can't see them?

My DH said we can get a catflap like this. Would you mind letting me know which one you have?
It sounds stupid, but these cats are my babies 😂

worth every penny!

I went on a work trip and my dad was feeding her. I knew she was sick because she had been outside for more than four hours. Was able to ring him when I saw she had come back in and he went round and took her to the vet. It’s great to be able to see their routines.

Should I tell his owners to get gerbils? 😬😂

I think this is the way forward!
Still worried about the little tabby that wants to live with us 🙈😂
