Kittens poo in litter tray but won't pee in it!

Is this a bit weird? Why on Earth would they poo in the litter tray but not pee in it? Just discovered they've been using the dogs bed to pee in, it's saturated!

How do I train them better?

Multiple litter trays. Many cats don't like peeing and pooing in the same place.

Rule of thumb is you should have a litter tray for each cat, and one spare. So if you have two cats you should have three trays.

Should add I have two cats and only have two trays, but they don't seem to mind so am keeping with that atm, but know they might get unhappy with the setup of two trays.

Yep, multiple trays (1 per cat plus 1 more) and also cleaning out regularly. We use a clumping litter so it's relatively easy to scoop. They'll use it less as they get older and their bladders get bigger. We had 3 kittens this time last year and I was constantly cleaning the trays. As soon as one was used and cleaned, someone else popped in for a visit.

We also had a mix of male and females, and one of the wee girls wouldn't pee in the trays at all until her brother was neutered. As soon as he was sorted, she was good as gold. We had puppy pads on the floor by the trays and she'd pee on them, so it wasn't too much of a disaster but still.....

I see you already have it sorted, but was also going to add about multiple trays :) mine are also fussy and have a pee box and a poo box. And if one of the three does the wrong thing in the wrong box my big lad George does a protest shite on the floor in front of the desecrated box 😂
