Hills prescription food

Hi all.
My Salem is 12, he's a rescue. Took him to the vets yesterday as he's had diaorrhea on and off for a while. The vet wants him to try this food exclusively for a week to see if it helps - but he's quite greedy and is asking for snacks in between the feeds.
Is there anything I can give him that won't affect the action of the food?

It is best to feed only the prescription food to see if it settles things.

Can you hold back part of his food ration and give that as treats. Particularly if the food is a new flavour it might be enough to satisfy them
