DH and I have been away for a few days and DS who is an adult and lives at home stayed looking after our 5.
They have been great but one who used to be like my little shadow is no longer speaking to me! Pulled his head away when I went to stroke him!
The cats have lived here since they were born 2 years ago and it's the first time we've left them.
One has even weed on my bed in protest
Will I ever get my little mate back?
Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2022 19:42

Mine sulked for 48hrs cos I kept pushing away from scratching our bed in the night.
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/06/2022 20:11
Mine sulks when I come home from being away !
I went up to my parents ( away for a week) the cats had DH,DS DD at home
I come back and one of them made themselves heard by having a dump behind a cardbox box in the hall
Little gits

Come running to meet me after a few days away like the prodigal son, then he realised he should be upset with me, so back turned for about an hour. Dreamies were a peace offering and he was fine.
Tiggertum · 23/06/2022 12:50
If it is my Siamese at least 4 weeks! And then woe is me if I go away again fairly shortly after.
My little grey - one dreamie and a cuddle😁
learieonthewildmoor · 23/06/2022 15:51
Ours are only resentful after a vet visit. Longest sulk is a day.
Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 23/06/2022 15:58
2 minutes and a box of dreamies.
VeryQuaintIrene · 23/06/2022 16:00
Think yourself lucky - my dear old Leo (RIP) invariably got an expensive UTI every time I went away!
007DoubleOSeven · 23/06/2022 16:05
My cat used to do this if I didn't say goodbye to him when I left, told him I would be back soon, when I'd be back and that I loved him and would miss.
If I missed saying any of this he'd sulk on return for 48 hours before gluing himself to my side again 😆
Miss him so much ❤

On my return from a trip away my cat needs to tell me at length how sad, lonely and hungry she has been (despite having her lovely catsitter staying throughout my absence), and is then fine. Flea treatments and vet visits result in 2-3 hours of vigorous sulking, often carried out from the roof of my neighbour's shed while glaring down at me.
Bdragon · 23/06/2022 17:44
Mine is my pal again immediately but with lots of shouting, wailing and cuddles demanded. She is a shouter in general though.
She doesn't allow the sitters more than a quick stroke or two so is pretty needy by the time I return, she usually has a lot of lap sitting and stroking.
FortasseRequiris · 23/06/2022 17:46
All three of mine sulk every time I put the four-weekly flea drops on them. It takes them roughly 26 days to forgive me, and then two days later I have to do it again…
Toddlerteaplease · 23/06/2022 17:49
Mine never sulk!
Kenwouldmixitup · 23/06/2022 17:53
So much for cats being independent and indifferent 😽
Fluffycloudland77 · 23/06/2022 22:24
It’s ok for them to vanish without trace for two weeks and come back like nothings happened though isn’t it?
user1471548941 · 30/06/2022 19:39
My boy HATES us all the way home from the cattery.
once home he spends 30 mins investigating the house for changes, then parks himself on the nearest available lap and is basically velcro cat for the next week… he’s only just stopped sleeping IN the bed with us since returning from our honeymoon 6 weeks ago….
