Hi, just looking for insight here. My 10 year old tabby has been acting out and I am wondering whether it is an indication he is unwell.
I am probably going to take him for a checkup at the vet (expensive and could be unnecessary)
I've never had to take them before, they have just always been fine. They are very loved cats who go in our garden and not really beyond that and are pampered and usually happy.
His sudden unexplained behaviours are listed here. Does anyone know if this is probably some type of illness? These are not all the time but they are recent and happening frequently:
- Weeing on bathroom floor for no reason (litter tray is cleaned daily and right by our toilet)
- Meowing more than usual as if he wants something. Over food he's always been one to leave the scraps in the bottom of the bowl then meow for new food, but now he's meowing even when it's fresh food.
- Biting my toes in the morning and doing it my daughter too as if he's trying to get out attention and yes, he does try to get us up to feed him, but it seems a bit more and more aggressive than usual.
Then most of the time he will just sit round like usual. Doesn't appear to be in pain, loves a cuddle etc.
But I just think the behaviours are weird and wonder if it's a common sign they are ill in any way?
Thank you.
