My cat isn't eating and sleeping lots after we painted all the woodwork

Two cats and neither of them are eating and one is sleeping all day in the garden and coming into sleep all night. Anyone experienced problems with paint fumes? When I google it, it's all about them ingesting paint, I can't think what else has happened to stop them eating

Was it water based paint? I can’t see a cat ingesting it on purpose Unless they trod in it or got it on their fur by accident.

sometimes in warm weather they eat less and hunt more so you do worry their poorly.

Oil based. It does stink and we all have headaches so maybe they feel I'll because of it

Is it possible someone else is feeding them?

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2022 09:58

Probably the fumes then.

How long has it been since they’ve eaten properly?

Ventilate as much as possible, make sure they have shade outside, offer water and food outside as well perhaps.

Not eating at all for 3 days warrants a vet check up.

My cat was like this when I decorated .

It was the paint fumes , he is a indoor cat so I kept him in the bedroom with water and dry food and the window open ( he couldn't get out )

If you can feed and water him outside, water in particular absorbs smells

Definitely a check up
Although mine took to sitting outside in the rain just because I changed the carpet and he didn't like it on his paws HmmHmm
