Waiting for your cat to come home after dark

must be good practice for when your teenagers stay out late. Dcat is not home and I can't go to bed.

It's not unusual for them to be out this late, we usually keep them in after dark so if they get the chance to sneak out they're usually out till all hours.

I'm going to have to go to bed but I won't sleep till I hear the cat flap

Can you go outside and shake some Dreamies? Mine would sell a kidney for Dreamies Grin

Dreamies don't work here after dark. Because we usually keep them in, on the odd occasion when they do escape the dark is more appealing than Dreamies. She'll come home I'm sure, she's just taking her time about it.

Understand your pain totally. I donned my coat and boots and walked the lark an hour ago as DCat wasn't home.....

I messaged the neighbours and checked his usual haunts.... no luck.

I walked home and lo and behold the little devil walked in the back door as I walked in the front door.
He's now fast asleep looking like butter wouldn't melt!!

I don't have a cat flap. On Thursday, big cat didn't come home and I was in the garden at 2am hissing her name and shaking Dreamies. She didn't appear so I had a sleepless night worrying and let little cat sleep with me so he had company (more for my benefit obv). Big one appeared some point mid morning, by which point my nerves were fried. I HATE going to bed without her in, but if I bring her in too early she's a total arse and goes straight back out, then I risk her not coming back at bedtime Confused Bloody cats.
