Suggest not turn into a cockroach with Sybil around.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/04/2022 16:17

Maybe TC will come and keep you company!

TheLongRider · 08/04/2022 18:01

DD12 tested positive for COVID on the 1st. She hasn't been too bad, but the Dressing Gown of Doom and the Shuffling Slippers of Sickness have been fully employed. She's living on a diet of YouTube videos, WhatsApp messages with her mates and whatever she fancies to eat. DH and I are both negative despite plenty of contact with her.

nettie434 · 08/04/2022 22:09

Sorry that you are in isolation Grumpy. I hope you are not left with only TC for company as he sneaks into the house while you are not on guard duty.

Want2beme · 08/04/2022 22:11

Saw this on pinterest. I cannot recover from such cuteness😻

Sorry Grumpy, hope you feel better soon

Has to take DCat1 to the vet twice this week, after 3 visits with DCat2. Vet clearly needs a new Range Rover.

DCat1 despite being very poorly charmed everyone at the vet, the vet kissed her on the head and said she was beautiful (she is).

How's your DH fluffy?

And Cap'n Super?

I live in hope that I never reach the heights of the vet bills of @Toddlerteaplease or @MrOllivander

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2022 08:29

My vet always has a flash car 😂 Porsches, Bentleys, jags. No one else is going to treat our pets though.

MrOllivander · 09/04/2022 09:57

Ollie claims he is worth every penny

All been a bit bonkers here. Been trying to organise care for my mum which is like herding kittens. Solution arose when she fell and dad called 999, she's in hospital and will be going into temporary care and then a care home
Dad a bit lost, they've been married 50 years and he's never lived alone. Suggested a cat, did not go well BlushGrin

Two cats? Maybe you got the “dose” wrong. Huge shock for you all though, no matter how things are in the family.

Allergictoironing · 09/04/2022 10:20

Traitorous to suggest it I know, but what about a small dog?

MrOllivander · 09/04/2022 10:38

I have suggested dog walking for a local rescue Wink
Also taking him to work (when I am off) to have a nosy and he perked up at that

@MrOllivander
Sorry to hear about your mum.
Does your dad have any outside interests. I know (for example) quite a few older gentlemen who have taken up (or restarted) singing. I think some external focus can be really helpful with a major life change like this.

Yes and no. He is quite unfit (due to not being able to do much while he was caring for mum and has a few old injuries)
He is happy walking, feeding the ducks, pottering doing DIY, loves cars, animals, food and a pint. I've got him coming to the garage and booked a surprise test drive for him. Sent him a link to a men's shed thing which looks interesting and am going to link him to a dog rescue Smile

Papergirl1968 · 09/04/2022 11:16

Sorry to hear that, MrO. It is hard when elderly parents can no longer live at home. We are approaching that with my DM.
And how is DH, Fluffy?

nettie434 · 09/04/2022 11:23

Sorry about your mum MrOllivander. It is going to be a huge wrench but also a weight off both your shoulders once your mum settles. My neighbour's wife went into a care home. He used to visit her every day, mainly to help his wife eat (she had a lot of problems swallowing). When his wife eventually died the home invited him to have his lunch there which I thought was lovely. He used to go most days.

I was going to suggest a men's shed but I see you have already mentioned that to him.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/04/2022 11:33

Sorry to hear about your Mum, Ollivander. I hope that she recovers well.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2022 12:54

He could get a husky! Their the bengals of the dog world.

The grooming alone would be a part time job, he could take it to the home to see her. The staff love visiting doggies. Zero work gets done if there’s a dog in the home.

Dh says he is bored. He’s given instructions to put his guitars away and told me my jeans are out of fashion now. He has to have his trach suctioned out so I made a risqué joke about it that apparently was not funny.

Supersimkin2 · 09/04/2022 16:37

The anesthetic’s affected DH’s sense of humour quite badly hasn’t it. And his sense of style.

Shame, really. It can’t be safe to take him home with his social skills in disarray.

MrOllivander · 09/04/2022 17:08

The bloke turned up with these. I asked for an Easter one and he said "but they do 3 types! I couldn't pick!"
