Best food for health cats?

Hi we have just adopted 2 cats who were being fostered by a rescue organisation. Siblings, about 3 years old. They have been fed on Whiskers pouches and Gocat dry food, but I understand there are better, healthier foods available. Please could someone advise? We are on a budget so probably cannot afford gourmet choices!

Cats around the world have lived and thrived on Whiskas and Gocat so if you are on a budget and it suits you, and the cats like it, you may not feel a need to change it.

My neighbour feeds her cats Whiskas, I feed mine posh grain-free cat food, and my bully cat has to be locked in every morning to stop him going round each day to eat the Whiskas. Lets face it 8 out of 10 cats really do prefer Whiskas!

Having said that, Gocat is the only food mine have ever refused to eat and I don't have fussy cats.

If you want to look at some higher quality brands, spend some time on Zooplus looking at the grainfree options. The bonus with them is you generally have to feed less as they aren't bulked out with filler. Feringa, Bozita and Animonda are the cheaper end of the spectrum, and you don't have to carry them home from the shop.

A friend's of mine recommended feline fayre wet food, very high meat/fish content, but reasonably priced, used to be able to get it in Tesco but have to order direct now, not as a complete food but as an addition to a grain free complete dry food, cats don't always drink enough water and can be prone to UTIs and kidney problems so we've always supplemented the dry with wet
