Cat licking and biting wooden furniture

Can anyone give me an idea of what she is up to? She has taken to licking drawer knobs and the corners of my desk - to the point it looks as if she is suckling on them, but will quite often also switch to biting on them with her side teeth. She is eating well and seems happy - there are no obvious signs of dental trouble, for example. She just seems a bit mad at the moment.

cats are barmy who knows why they do the stuff they do.The only way to sort this is to find something that they might like to chew instead.Spray it with catnip to draw their attention. But the question is what

I don't mind her doing it - it's quite cute really. She seems to think my sock drawer is her mum! But just worried it might be an indicator of something. My old boy started licking coal and it was a sign he was lacking a nutrient and was an early indicator he was on his way out, poor baby. He was a prince among cats.
