We got our cat last May from a rescue. She's 18 months old now, great fun and very lively.
But she never sleeps near anyone, she always takes herself off somewhere alone or away from us on the floor.
This evening she suddenly jumped onto the arm of the sofa walked over dd and has curled up fast asleep in between us. She's actually lying right against my leg!
Dd and me are afraid to make a sound and I obviously am stuck here now until she moves.
I've wanted her so much to cuddle up to us and maybe even one day sleep on a lap. There's a glimmer of hope now that maybe she will.

Oh how wonderful! Hopefully this is the start of a beautiful new stage in your relationship with the small furry creature🙏 ❤️

Oh that’s just lovely😻

We have a similar cat, a 4 year old rescue that’s been with us 3 months. She likes to be near us and literally follows me round the house when I’m home but never too close. She does now sleep on the bed with us but she will come up to me in bed, have a little fuss and then curl up down the bottom of the bed. This evening is the first time really she has sat on the sofa beside me.

She didn’t last long and she’s now on our bed but it was lovely.

It was like being visited by the Queen🤣🤣

How lovely.

We've had our rescue cat 4 years. She's incredibly loving but it took about 3 years for her to settle on a lap to sleep.

There's nothing like the feeling of a cat cuddled up to you to sleep. Let's hope she realises how nice it is and she wants to do it lots more.

It took my DCat 18 months to do that. Now she's the ultimate snuggle bug Grin

Aw, so great to hear other positive stories.
It was gorgeous to feel the warmth from her along my leg.
She's moved now but we had 50 minutes or so of bliss.
We've not had a cat for many years and I was looking forward to cat snuggles again but thought it might not happen.

❤️❤️❤️

9 years on, my eldest boy makes me sleep on about 10 inches of edge bed. I feel like shite because I sleep very badly as a result, Madly, I still feel he’s worth it, though.

(Why??? My 3 baby (1) girls sleep downstairs and they love me so much more!!!!)

How lovely, OP Smile

I’d be cracking open the champagne!

My boy won't sleep anywhere near us, but he frequently comes up to me when I'm asleep and either headbutts me or bops me on the face with his paw to get my attention Grin. Sometimes I wake up to him right near my head breathing his fish breath on me.

He's an odd one.

Snozzlemaid · 14/01/2022 22:17

Aw. I knew I could share my joy with you and you'd all understand.

Lovely! Slowly but surely.

I love this. There's a rule in my house that no-one moves if they have been chosen by a pet.

Mumsgirls · 15/01/2022 22:41

Mine is the opposite , a total lap cat, when I go away , he is on the knee of the sitter within minutes.lol Lovely that he is so friendly and trusting, but he does not make u feel special. I took him on at ten when his owner had to go in a flat and he was purring on my knee within minutes of meeting. Funnily he is a biter as well if over simulated lol
Enjoy your lovely cats, nothing nicer than a purring bundle of fur on your lap.
