Our rescue has a semi regular column in the local paper. This week's one is on cats in flats. To illustrate it we need photos of a cat/s looking out of a window. And the deadline is tomorrow.

I'm sure someone here has just the thing ...

@JorisBonson

Spot the ginger sausage. This is his default position on sunny days. He enjoys showing his nether regions to the world too.
There should be a book of spot the cat photos!

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 14/01/2022 10:12

I’m not trying to be funny, but why isn’t the OP telling us the nature of the article?

She asked for permission to use some of these pictures but what if the article is about the cruelty of keeping cats indoors?

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 14/01/2022 10:37

The OP works for Celia Hammond Animal Trust in Canning Town which takes a very balanced approach to indoor/outdoor cats so we assume without needing to ask that the article will be very reasonable.

thecatneuterer · 14/01/2022 11:18

@TheDuchessOfBeddington That's a good point. I'm guilty of assuming I'm well enough known in The Litter Tray that it wasn't necessary to clarify the exact content. That's an oversight on my part.

Those who know me will be not in the slightest bit surprised to hear that the focus of the piece will be that indoor only cats also need neutering. Neutering is of course my obsession Grin.

I could have written a 3,000 word essay on the subject of indoor only cats (and I'm not massively either pro or against - it's a complicated subject). However the local paper isn't the audience for that, and the word count is very limited (as it is I've gone massively over and I'm waiting to see how much will be cut). So yes - the thrust is - neuter your indoor only cats. With an added explanation/warning/apology (to try to avoid too many complaints) that it's almost impossible to actually get an appointment for neutering with us, or with anyone else in London, due to the shortage of vets following Brexit/Covid.

I apologise for jumping to a conclusion, obviously you are known on these boards. I guess I’m a little suspicious of journalists!

Kittykat93 · 14/01/2022 15:16

Tbf even if you didn't recognize the name it states in the op that they work for a rescue.

Pudmyboy · 14/01/2022 20:26

What a lovely thread this had been! So many gorgeous kitties! Thank you @thecatneuterer!

It is 😻

I've gone through my gallery of 5000 kitty photos and can't find a single one of them looking out... they all seem to want to come in 🤔😂
