Your cat's fave cat toys?

I have two new crazy kittens, they love to play with toys.
Looking for some recommendations that other cats enjoy...what does your cat like to play with?

In my experience, liking of toy is inversely proportional to toy cost. Kicker toys, no interest. Catnip toys, vague batting about then ignored. Ping pong balls disappear in about 5 paw bats. No idea where to, if I ever move house I might be able to set up an Etsy shop to sell them! However, a fairly manky piece of rope that came into the house to go in the bin? Best. Toy. Ever.

These are the best wands ever, they have spring in them. You can get longer ones if you have plenty of space. And profits to a cat charity:

Plus they have cute attachments made from natural materials that mine have jealously treasured, eg:

Mollies nice. They don't really go I. For toys. But they love them.

crackofdoom · 05/12/2021 16:26

Pipe cleaners, especially the fluffy ones.

And dead voles 🙄

Dried pineapple leaves, the plastic covers from the plugs on new appliances, a piece of pink ribbon, and a dressage whip have been my cats’ favourite toys.

Delilah1234 · 05/12/2021 16:35

Pom-poms - they like running around carrying them and batting them around. I’ve just had to make more because they keep falling apart!

kowari · 05/12/2021 16:37

Stolen figurines, socks, mince pie cases, leaves, worms..

bringonyourwreckingball · 05/12/2021 16:39

Shoe lace she found under the bed, now quite manky. She sits next to it looking sad until one of us swishes it round for her to chase.

bringonyourwreckingball · 05/12/2021 16:42

Oh and the kids collection of red noses from comic relief days past - they’re super exciting because they don’t roll straight

RavenT and others, can I just say thank you for the cosmic banana suggestion. We have done christmas early, as DH wont be here on the 25th (and DC will also be alone that day).
She has gone absolutely mental over the banana - including waking DS2 to get to the contents of her stocking (a wand as I linked to above, cosmic banana and cat stick treats). We couldn't even get it out of her claws to remove the cardboard backing until it had been well chewed!

SanFranBear · 12/12/2021 12:51

HunkyPunk - not overthinking it at all.. my boy gets so cross after playing with the laser pointer, even if I sometimes let him 'catch it' (have it on his paws for ages).. quick Google and its recognised they get very frustrated so think treats are the way forward!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/12/2021 12:53

Agree with Toddler. Molly's Mice are brilliant (the only replacement for the long gone Culpeper mice).
Otherwise swan or peacock feathers, scrunched up shredded wheat wrappers, wine corks or our hands Grin.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/12/2021 12:54

And yes - living or recently dead rodents are best Hmm

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/12/2021 12:55

Right now, the Christmas tree Grin

Isitmeorthemm · 12/12/2021 12:57

Pipe cleaners... she gets them out from the craft drawer herself and hides them under the sofa, only brings them out once the dc are in bed and she knows they won't steal them off her!

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/12/2021 12:58

Pom poms
Length of wool tied to a stick
Fishing rod toy with feathers , although they are ripped apart within days

Snog · 12/12/2021 14:40

Mine just discovered an actual fly

AmandaHugenkiss · 12/12/2021 14:50

He really likes his toy squirrel, but his absolute favourites are the plastic caps off the ends of our new radiators, and an old pair of shoelaces. 😂

Toddlerteaplease · 12/12/2021 14:57

Mine aren't really into toys. But they like Mollies mice and things with feathers on. Magic also likes balls.
