Lost cat - what to do next

I've posted on the local lost pet forum on Facebook, shared it on my own page & asked people to share it.
Been walking round the estate shouting him last night and this morning!
I've phoned the local vets hospital - he's not there
I'm going to make some flyers & posters,
He is microchipped - will fish out the paper work and see if there is anything I can do there.
What else can I do? Please help

Thanks everyone!
23000 steps plus today & no bloody sign of him.
But my lovely friends are stepping up, had 5 different helpers at different times today which has made a huge difference to moral! ❤️

I also contacted the local cat rescue - they are hoping to put me in touch with one of their expert lost cat ladies! Haven't heard from her today but hopefully tomorrow! 🙏

Feel much more hopeful than I did on Monday!

I have developed a new routine! Vest top on in the morning under my clothes, sleep in vest top, in the morning put dirty vest top on the washing line wear a new vest top! 🙄

Still not home!
Another potential sighting which sort of fits in!
We're keeping going!

I'm so glad you've had some sightings of him, that's a positive thing at least!

If he's anything like mine, he'll wonder what all the fuss is about when you finally get him back Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/12/2021 15:36

What a nice man helping you like that.

leotardrock · 04/12/2021 16:27

Another low day today!
Based on Thursday nights sighting we parked the car opposite the road and spent most of yesterday evening sat in the car, not a dicky bird.
We have been putting food down at the spot where the video was taken, it's been eaten but obviously we don't know by what. I ordered one of the battery powered outdoor cameras and we set that up this morning .
Walked round the estate again it's so bloody cold. Will probably head back to the car again later.
Still putting my clothes on the line, went out and emptied the Hoover bag around the road
Feeling hopeless again!

I’m sorry that you haven’t found him yet. The effort you’re putting in is amazing!

I very much hope that you find him soon.

leotardrock · 04/12/2021 17:15

Thanks Mia! ❤️

I just need to know that I have done all I can!

You know he's out there so dont give up.

leotardrock · 04/12/2021 20:42

Having a bit of a rest tonight! I am exhausted! I will go out for a walk & a call and a biscuit box shake later!
Was reading cats can smell for up to 4 miles, he's not even 1/4 of a mile away, been willing him to use his little nose tonight - he needs to put some effort it! 🙄

The local litter pickers are in our area tomorrow, DH is going to see if it flushes him out & will go and see if we have had any luck with the camera.

If we know it's him we can bottom a trap from the local cat rescue!

Fingers and paws crossed for you!

icedcoffees · 05/12/2021 11:20

Oh no, I can't believe you've not got him home yet - little bugger!

I really hope you get some good news soon.

CraftyGin · 05/12/2021 11:33

I don't really think you can do much more. Some cats just decide to leave home.

My cat left home a couple of months ago. We see him once or twice a week, but he won't be picked up or lured into the house.

I am pretty sure he is living on our street, giving the sightings.

leotardrock · 05/12/2021 14:29

114 photos of the cat food plus magpies & squirrels! 🙁

I need the power of mumsnet behind me! This photo turned up on the camera this morning!

Cats protection have delivered a trap, and it's set - we need to go and check it every hour!

I feel so hopeful but so scared we're not going to get him! 🙏🙏

He has got you in a merry dance op..
I sincerely hope your dedication pays off for him..

icedcoffees · 06/12/2021 18:22

Oh, good luck OP. All my kitties have their paws crossed for you!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/12/2021 18:40

Is he looking thinner?

leotardrock · 06/12/2021 20:01

Difficult to tell from the photo! He was abit of an 'apple' carried his weight on his tummy!

3 trips so far- no sign - one of my friends doing the next one so we can have our tea! It's down a really dark muddy slippery path honestly!, I hope we get him back tonight - I don't ever want to walk down there again!

OP posts:
Momniscient · 06/12/2021 20:56

When you do get him back, are you supposed to treat him like a new adoptee - keep inside for a couple of weeks, slowly does it etc? Or once he's back is it all okay?

leotardrock · 06/12/2021 22:55

Monm the cat rescue expert I spoke to said to keep him in for 7 weeks when I get him home!
TBH he'll be lucky if he gets outside again! 🤣

It looks as though he has been in & eaten some Tina but DH hadn't set the trap properly - the food container stopped the trap activating! As frustrating as that is hopefully if he's been in once and got some tuna he'll go in again! 🙏🙏🙏

Any news @leotardrock

leotardrock · 07/12/2021 11:57

None! Came back empty handed last night!

Will try again tonight! It's absolutely exhausting! 🙁

Mia184 · 07/12/2021 20:09

I hope that you are able to trap him tonight.
