Do your cats sleep in your bedroom?

I have a kitten and a 3 year old cat. I love having them in our bedroom at night, it feels cosy when we're all together.

When they wake up very very early wanting breakfast, it's a different story! I wake up with the kitten sat on my head, the other cat walking on the head board, poking our faces and growling Blush.

When I'm home alone I keep them downstairs in the kitchen but I miss them when I do!

Is it just me that wants their cats close by at nightGrin?

@GorgeousLadyofWrestling where is you bedding from please? It is lovely, as is your cat! I have a black and white cat who also has pillow hogging on her rota of sleeping spots.

gogohm · 20/11/2021 08:39

No, I'm allergic to her

My cats do and they will sleep until I do. One of my cats is often still in bed when I go to work. They have access to dry food so I guess that’s why there’s to crying for food. Couldn’t cope with that!

Ours have very set routines .
Male comes into the bedroom at 4-5am , jumps up with a Brrrrrrr , walks over us .
After breakfast he'll go out , come in , use the tray then mosey upstairs to sleep on our bed . If he finds a coathanger or some underwear , he's happy .

Female sleeps on a dining room chair ( 2 seat pads for Ultimate Arse Luxury) . She "helps" DH when he WFH and demands to go into DD room as its the only closed door . Closed doors make her angry !

You can tell by the eyes he’s making in photo 2 that @RockingAmadeus cat is a much abused and neglected little cat.

Our Bengal slept downstairs unless he was ill and then dh would go in the spare room and the cat would sleep with me incase he needed me in the night.

RockingAmadeus · 20/11/2021 10:29

@Fluffycloudland77 lol all very spoiled cats which is how it should be. They only ask for love and the “occasional” bowl of food Smile

You can practically hear the CPL reaching for the van keys to scoop him up and take him away from All This

My own CPL moggies are poised to speed dial theor fosterer but then think "Nah we'll give the Cats Slaves a 2nd chance . Why should be deprive ourselves of this life of riley just to make a point "

@Claudethecat it’s this one in the green www.tedbaker.com/uk/Homeware-and-gifts/Bed-Linen/HIBBA-Hibiscus-cotton-double-duvet-Jade/p/251485-JADE

I’ve never spent that much on duvet cover but it’s just so lovely!

My girls are 3.5 and for a long time they slept downstairs, but now they come up most nights once the weather is cooler. They're indoor cats so can't have them in my room at night as like the window open.

My cat (technically one's mine and one's DDs) has just recently moved for only ever sleeping by my feet to curling up at chest level so she gets fuss and purrs me to sleep Grin.

If my cat is on my bed when I go to bed she stays there overnight. She tends to wake me early though. She is fed at 7am and if I haven't slept ling enough or she has woken me in the night I will feed her at seven then go back to bed and shut my bedroom doorIf she is on the sofa when I go to bed she doesn't get to sleep on my bed. I am retired though and live alone so going back to bed is fine.

Shallysally · 21/11/2021 00:33

No, she would be running up and down stairs, sitting on my head and generally being a pain. I need sleep!
She sleeps in the kitchen, she has a cosy bed and is just fine.

caringcarer · 21/11/2021 00:43

I hope 3 cats now. One cat died on the road 3 weeks ago, which made us so sad. Much as I love them to bits they sleep in their baskets in the kitchen, but I do leave the underfloor heating on for them. 2 Dogs sleep in baskets in lounge.

Furries · 21/11/2021 03:10

Definitely! My boy races me up the stairs at bedtime( obviously he wins the race!)

He politely sits while I get undressed and into bed and settled. He then jumps up on the bed and spoons cuddles my arm. His purring sends me off to sleep.

He hardly ever wakes me up in the morning. And, on the rare occasion he does, it’s with a very gentle paw stroking my cheek.

I do realise I’m very lucky!

My beloved Thug Cat came free, apart from a massive ego. "Don't You Know Who I Am???"
He sleeps wherever he pleases. Usually, the bed, on or next to me.
I've avoided having my hair pulled, eyelids prised open, and nose nipped between fishy-smelling fangs at 4am by pulling the duvet over my head and sliding down under it.
The Thug returns at 6.30am and I get up and attend to feeding/watering/litter tray needs.
9am Thug returns and requires a full groom and (healthy) treats.
Good job I'm fully retired.

Thug's permanent excuse is that he was a misunderstood, starved, abandoned victim. I doubt he will change his views as it's obviously of benefit to him.
He's not keen on his weekly weigh-in, though.

maofteens · 21/11/2021 18:24

Yes. I have two dogs who take up a bit of the bed, one cat sleeps at the top of the cats tower and the other I don't know but eventually I know one has clued up by my legs. If we make it to 6am it's a good day!

Vbree · 21/11/2021 20:06

No not at night we keep the door shut and she's quite independent. We indulge in the odd afternoon nap together on my bed though, and she does nap alone in our room during the day.
