My darling girl, Demelza,was bitten a few days ago. I didn’t even realise! She has became abit hissy if we stroked too near her but assumed it was just a scratch.

Today my daughter noticed this. I feel like the worst mum ever.
My poor baby.

I’m going to take her to the vets tomorrow. What do you think they will do?

Aw she's a beauty! My cat tail was bitten through and it went droopy! Not to worry -lots of people treat bjte abscesses at home (I don't I take to vets and they make a swift recovery opt for the antibiotic injection rather than tablets)

It's sometimes really hard to tell our dogs eye looked odd for ages and I couldn't see why as I was looking for cloudiness -then in certain light could see the ulcer on it poor old boy

My boy had what the vet thought was an infected bite wound. The vet cut, drained and he had an injection for ABs. Had to take him back for a check and vet was happy. Can't remember the exact sum, but it was the cost of vet's appointment, ABs, and they charged me a half price appointment for follow up.

You can ask. I got to the stage when I’d refuse any long lasting antibiotic injections and just have the tablets which are much cheaper.

She’s such a pretty cat.

@Jinnybean

She’s never had a fight at all, she’s such a timid girl. :(
So was magic. People who know her were astounded that she'd had a fight. As was I!

How’s she doing OP?

Jinnybean · 08/11/2021 21:02

Much better! I have a spray I used for our pup when she was bitten and Iv been using that 3x a day and it’s so much smaller and cleaner looking. Took her vets and they gave her antibiotics and a painkiller :( cost £60!

That’s not too bad! She’ll be right as rain soon.

Poor baby. This happened to our baby a few months ago. Healed nicely within a few days after the antibiotic jab & she had painkillers daily. Took her back the following week for a check-up. Cost less than £100 in total so probably not worth claiming on your insurance.
