Advice on how to rehome cats?

My aunt has suddenly deteriorated and had an emergency admittance today to a nursing home and they don’t take animals. She has two beautiful cats who now need a home, I’ve tried to contact a few charities but nobody seems to answer the phone. Does anyone have any other suggestions on safe ways to rehome them?

Where in Scotland are you? I know a few good local cat charities where I am?

Why wouldn't cat protection league help - I know ours would NOT quickly advertise especially pretty / desirable cats. They wait for phone calls (overwhelmed since 2020), screen & match the callers with animals they have.

If they are a breed, there are breed specific charities that re-home them.

We've got all our cats from the vets. Put up notices in all the local vets if possible.
