Cat may have eaten tea bags

We are currently cat sitting my parent's cat. We came downstairs this morning to a box of tea bags all over the floor- one was ripped open and the tea had spilled out. She must have got up onto a shelf and pulled the box down. Obviously I don't know if she ate much, but I'm worried as I've read tea can be toxic for cats. She seems fine at the moment and has just had her breakfast, but I'm not sure if I should be taking her to the vet, or just keep an eye on her. Any advice would be great

I've not heard of tea being toxic for cats! My cat used to love drinking my tea as a kitten! If she seems okay and is eating/drinking I'd just keep an eye on her

It sounds like she was playing, and ripped the teabag the way she would disembowel a mouse. If only one is ripped, and its spilled contents are still on the floor, she obviously didn’t eat much, if any.
She maybe hoped it was dried catnip, and spurned it when it wasn’t.

At least it wasn't lemon meringue pie.

No, I didn't know cats liked lemon meringue pie either, not till DH left the kitchen door open the other evening...

Cat seems fine! Thanks for the replies. She seems to really like the smell of tea bags for some reason! I've caught her trying to get a box out the cupboard before.
