Please recommend a reliable flea treatment

I frontline care once a month religiously but he was in the vets last week and today I have found a flea on baby

I have used the comb on cat and found no fleas but have found flea dirt at the base of his tail so assume it’s only a matter of time until I find more fleas

Frontline doesn’t work that great anymore, hence why you can buy it on things like Amazon. Maybe get one from your vet for a few months to eradicate them then start shopping around for a different one?

We use Bravecto from the vets which they said was more effective. It’s expensive though!! But only needs doing every 3 months.

I'm being plagued. Always used frontline and thought no more of it and my eldest DC started getting bites so I checked one of the cats and there was a flea. I have 3 cats and a dog and although it's only 1 cat I have found them on the others have been itching. I'm using something called itch at the min but they've only had one dose. The next is due in a couple of weeks. I treat the house with the spray once a week and hoover daily. I am so angry that frontline seems not to be working anymore. I treated them religiously to stop this very thing occuring!!!

I use Stronghold - marvellous stuff. It sorts out the fleas and the worms. I buy it from the vets.

Ask the vet x

Get a prescription flea treatment

I’ve used Advantage for years and never had a problem, but it seems to have stopped working.

I got Bravecto from the vets and it’s amazing. Expensive, but it’s a 3 monthly treatment and it kills all the fleas within a few days.

Don’t forget you’ll need to treat your house too, as well as bedding, pillows, soft furnishings etc.

Thanks everyone. Went to the vet and got some credelio which they said would do the trick 👌🏼
