My Daphne is not very well. I just know it

I feel sick thinking about it. I’m on my way home from holiday and the cat sitter text to say she was shocked at how thin she had got. Four weeks ago she had her annual check up and had lost 250 grams in a year. We put it down to the weather etc. She’s been having that new Felix and I noticed she was having the runs but I do t think it’s that. She was ok then just as I was going away she got the ribs again on the kitchen floor and started throwing up clear fluid. The vomit was a one off but she still has a runny bum. And is drinking a lot. She’s 5 can my baby have cancer? I’ve rang the emergency vet and the receptionist said it’s £90 and I can’t claim off my Pet Plan until I’ve spent £500 🤔 wt actual f? Can they do that? It’s Medivet which have I have always used specifically because they work with Pet Plan and once you pay the £90 that’s it they automatically claim direct. I don’t know what to do I’m dreading going home and seeing her. She’s eating very well and there’s no blood. Shall I buy some anti allergic food on my way home and take her on Tuesday when I’m off?

Well she’s lost more weight since six weeks ago but he said she’s still overweight and to carry on with the bland food and give her probiotics. He wasn’t concerned at all. Said to go back in a month.

Did they take blood tests?

It sounds like good news though ...

What do you think?

EachandEveryone · 03/09/2021 13:49

No he told me to save my money! It was a different vet to last time. She’s eating drinking the poos still aren’t firm though. I think she was worse just before I went away she was heaving then but that’s all stopped now.

Sounds like giving her the probiotics is a good first move and to trust your gut if you think she isn't improving and take her back...

How is Dolly?

EachandEveryone · 03/09/2021 17:19

Fine! Still does her own thing she will always be stand offish I think. She’s blooming massive 5.6 kg. She will never be a lap cat and Daphne is top cat without a doubt it’s funny how she loved her when she was little now she’s always giving her a bop over the head 🤔
