Cat has swollen cheek, can’t get vet appointment for 4 days - how can I help?

Poor moggy came in this afternoon after being fine this morning with a swollen cheek.
Looks a bit dishevelled and there is a tiny mark on his face that could be a bit wound but no blood and no open wounds now.

He’s eating fine but definitely looks sorry for himself.

I tried to book a vet appointment but they have no slots for the rest of the week

Is there anything I can do to help him from home?

Try a different vet.
If it’s an abscess and needs antibiotics it could be too serious to wait until the end of the week.
I can’t believe you vet doesn’t have slots kept to deal with poorly/injured animals!

Yes to new vet but in the meantime see if you can clean the wound area and if there is a scab to soften

An abscess will burst in it own accord but if it's scanned over you can clean it off and it will help to drain

Could he have an insect bite? That should go down relatively quickly on its own.
