By popular request, a furtherance of the Saga of TC the Stripey.

For anyone unfamiliar, this is a story of a war of attrition over the last two years waged by a fat stripey cat on the innocent and long suffering members (feline and human) of the Grumpy household. Now running at almost 3000 posts, clearly TC would give Grendel a run for his money

All literary references welcome, we've already had Shakespeare, Saki, James Thurber, The KJV bible, Judith Kerr, EM Forster, Benny Hill and of course our own Supersimkin2 (to name but a few).

Can you imagine if TC ever needed to be rehomed? It would need to go interviews and credit checks, enhanced DBS and references from a JP before a decision got made.

I'm sure Grumpy would take him in, he's TC's godparent isn't he? 😉🤔

Mr & Mrs Grumpy would be very active in screening potential adoptees. They’d give priority to people in the Channel Islands 😹

Which thread wasn't that had the link to the bengal rehoming page? That was a delightful read. Fluffykins needs a house without any neighbours within a 5 mile radius and no overhead powerlines. He needs to live in a pet-free, child-free home where he is the only male. He's not fond of vacuuming, TV or soft furnishings and will only eat off a green China plate and drink Evian.

Pretty much all Bengal rehoming pages read like that 😹 with a prefix of “heartbreaking decision” which is code for the neighbours are threatening legal action.

I did once try mine on Volvic but he preferred filtered tap water.

Once we've rehomed him we'll be putting out the bunting, inviting our friends over and partying like there is no tomorrow.

He's now trying to get past the two sentinels by walking along the railings so he can jump over them. Sybil is really grumpy, having spotted him from inside the kitchen. She is currently growling at him 😹

Clearly they could all just gang up and see him off for once and for all, but choose not to. It's almost like they enjoy having something to do, just as much as he does, and so they've settled on this intricate game of cat chess that makes no sense to any human watcher.

We are leaving the front door open so ours can come and go before it becomes really hot. Don't suppose I should have been surprised by this.

Mind you, it was cooler on the doorstep than inside the house, so he's not daft.
