Thug cat part 4. After all, it's not my Axminster.

By popular request, a furtherance of the Saga of TC the Stripey.

For anyone unfamiliar, this is a story of a war of attrition over the last two years waged by a fat stripey cat on the innocent and long suffering members (feline and human) of the Grumpy household. Now running at almost 3000 posts, clearly TC would give Grendel a run for his money

All literary references welcome, we've already had Shakespeare, Saki, James Thurber, The KJV bible, Judith Kerr, EM Forster, Benny Hill Shock and of course our own Supersimkin2 (to name but a few).

It's the geese and the swans, readily available here, that worry me!

Merry Christmas Mr and Mrs Grumpy and your four beautiful cats. Sybil is a stunner but Karl, Lenny and Basil are lovely. Missing the hard man that is TC, the photos you took of him when you called made me want to run haha.
Miss my boys always so all you amazing cat lovers have a great time Xmas Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/12/2021 10:40

Thank you @Vanuatu, and a very happy Christmas to you and yours too. Xmas Smile

TC was around as usual this morning. This was him exiting the premises after I'd suggested he couldn't come in. He then savaged my leg... BAU.

Is TC kissing the ground Pope-style, in that second photograph?

I'd pay to see him in one of those pet Pope costumes.

Is there a Christmas jumper photo from this year?

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 18/12/2021 13:04

We should start a fund to pay for Grumpy's hospital costs if he tries that.

Oh, yes. Seconding the demand request for a Christmas jumper photo.

I am liking the irony of your username here as I believe TC is just showing repentance for trying to enter the (in his eyes) hallowed ground of Grumpy's house.

You say "savaged my leg" Grumpy but we all know he was just trying to kiss your feet.

SmallFacedMaskedPeople · 18/12/2021 14:27

And I would pay extra money to see someone helpfully trying to close Thug Cat's little paws around the Papal Ferula.

(I had to ask Catholic DH about that, to me it's the pope's big staff! Hope this post is not offensive!)

@SmallFacedMaskedPeople, by jove. I think you've got something there!

He was just trying to get your attention, Grumpy.

Oooh, the Pope has a big staff! Pass it on!

A serious sum of danger money would have to be paid to anyone attempting such a high risk activity. There would be no volunteers!

I have now put Papal Ferula in my memory bank for future reference should need arise. Learn something new every day.

TC has been very much in evidence today. He came running up to greet us this morning, and then earliy this afternoon he was back to his old tricks of attempted breaking and entering through the front door.

My neighbour's bengal was in our garden today, watched by our cat from the safety of a box under the table behind a double glazed door. He attempted to catch a squirrel but was utterly, utterly shit at it. Perhaps that's why TC sticks to your house/car/boat, bengals are bad hunters?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/12/2021 17:41

So what do you get for Christmas for your next door neighbours?

Obvious really - a set of 4 TC coasters. Shock
Should I launch a brand? Grin

CassandraCross · 21/12/2021 18:20

YES you should launch a brand you'd sell out on MN within minutes!

PatriotCanes · 21/12/2021 19:00

Brilliant 👏 👏

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 21/12/2021 22:07

Love the coasters. I'd even pony up for a calendar with different pictures of TC every month.

That photo is like the feline version of The Shining when Jack Nicholson breaks down a door with an axe and sings out "Heeeere's Jack!"
Santapankitoo · 22/12/2021 19:10

I would buy those !

I'd love one of them.
Santapankitoo · 22/12/2021 20:26

I think we have suggested the calendar before.

SwtPeasOnEarth · 23/12/2021 01:16

@Santapankitoo we sure have suggested a calendar! But I guess we will just have to be happy with those coasters of TC, too.

It has occurred to me that the Saga of the Stripey would make a great children's book. Can you imagine the drawings? TC swaggering around in his gold chain, TC savaging all and sundry, TC squaring off against Sybil?

It would need a happy ending, of course, with TC joining the Grumpy household as a cherished and beloved member.

Yes, yes, yes.

Come on Grumpy you could rival Julia Donaldson by this time next yearGrin.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 23/12/2021 17:26

I like the idea of a pop-up book.
