Which kitten would you choose?

We have reserved a ragdoll kitten - they are currently 4 weeks old and there's a litter of 5. We have asked for a girl and there are two (Same colouring and both absolutely gorgeous!) One is more timid and loves being picked up and held. The other is more playful and loves fighting with her brothers! We get to choose but are not sure which personality would suit us better.

Our last cat was very aggressive and swiped a lot. She had no time for our son. He is such an animal lover and is so gentle. Part of me thinks the more timid one would be better for him as it would be lovely for him to be able to hold and stroke her. However if she's too timid, she might be a bit frightened of him I guess (he's a typical boisterous 4 year old.)

Which one would you choose?

I should have said, the kittens are already living with children so used to that.

Err, both! no brainer. Sorry Grin

Cosmos123 · 04/05/2021 21:40

The timid one.

Thatswatshesaid · 04/05/2021 21:42

Most aggression is fear based. I’d go for the confident one.

Hehe - definitely this Grin

Ninkanink · 04/05/2021 21:42

Both...genuinely good advice -how could you choose❤️❤️❤️
Honestly why’s the point of not doing that ? They’re bonded siblings you really will never regret it ❤️❤️
They’re adorable of course

Ninkanink · 04/05/2021 21:43

Does he realise that if you have two they will play together and be much less trouble as kittens?

SappysCurry · 04/05/2021 21:44

Nooooo ignore him what does he know ?? Two are just as easy to handle as one ...❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely x

another one saying both !! over the years we’ve had one kitten on her own who was a bit of a nightmare and then two kitten sisters together who were a dream

daseychain · 04/05/2021 21:46

Another vote for both

Cleverpolly3 · 04/05/2021 21:51

ragdoll cats are beautiful and inherently placid, docile and even tempered.
All kittens are playful and mischievous but as a breed these are their specific temperaments.

Incidentally in my experience the most playful and outward facing kittens make for the most loving and participative adults cats.

Cleverpolly3 · 04/05/2021 21:51

Also to add I would also take them both.

InpatientGardener · 04/05/2021 21:52

Both both both! Honestly two kittens are so much less hassle than one, our original kitten absolutely plagued me until we got her a friend then they just dashed about together.

Igmum · 04/05/2021 21:53

Both. Both ❤️❤️ (If necessary tell DH there is only one and she just moves really quickly from room to room Grin)

beenrumbled · 04/05/2021 21:53

Both!

InpatientGardener · 04/05/2021 21:54

@Igmum GrinGrinGrin

Cissyandflora · 04/05/2021 21:55

Definitely both. But all 5 if possible.

Giantrooster · 04/05/2021 21:55

Dump your dh, go for both.

Your dh is being very very unreasonable, it is much easier having two than one, they play together, cuddle together etc. Those early early mornings when they are young and they wake you for food and play will be minimized when they have company. (Don't tell your dh if he doesn't know about that) Grin.

peonyjam · 04/05/2021 21:55

I have a ragdoll and I always regretted not getting both of the kittens that were left. So another vote for both!

Aprilshowersandhail · 04/05/2021 21:55

Imagine if my dd had chosen only 1??

Which kitten would you choose?
ceilingsand · 04/05/2021 21:56

The confident one.
