Feliway or feliway friends

I am slowly introducing a new kitten to my 3 yr old cat. I am a regular watcher of Jackson Galaxy and know the drill about scent swapping and taking time etc. We are at the stage now where we are allowing short periods of contact in a neutral area.

My beautiful, affectionate and friendly girl hisses and hisses at the kitten. I know this is to be expected but my heart bleeds for her that she is feeling scared and threatened by this tiny kitten.

Does anyone have any real life experience of using feliway in this situation? Would it actually help my cat to feel calmer? Is it better to buy the "feliway friends" version or just the original?

They are beautiful. How are they getting on now? I've used Feliway products in the distant past, but they didn't work. Hopefully, someone here can suggest what's best to use.

Hi. Thanks for replying. I bought feliway friends on Friday. I'm not sure if it has any effect or if the cats are just acclimatising naturally. They seem now to chase and bap in a more playful way... but with a slight edge . Short periods together are still enough but we are definitely making progress.

At the cat rescue I volunteer for we recommend Pet Remedy instead of Feliway. Hope they will be friends soon!
