My 6 month old boy cat absolutely adores going in my connecta baby sling. Purring away for hours and let's me get jobs done hand free!

Anyone else have a cat that does this?

No, but you simply cannot post this without a photo! Grin

DeusEx · 04/03/2021 17:12

Oh my goodness photos please!

Kanaloa · 04/03/2021 17:13

How cute lol must give people a surprise when you answer the door. DH’s parents have a cat who loves to go in people’s jackets and lie there I guess it’s warm and cosy.

crazycatcoupe · 04/03/2021 17:15

I wondered if it was because he was a kitten and he might grow out of it. I will get a photo when he wakes up and I am allowed to move.

One of mine probably would. I was complaining the other day that he likes to be carried around like a baby and I have to do everything one handed. I might have to invest in one Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 04/03/2021 18:52

I did buy a sling for Cheddar once. She wasn't keen!

Toddlerteaplease · 04/03/2021 18:53

I'm sure I saw someone carding a cat dressed up like a baby in the park a few weeks ago.

CoronaCurls · 04/03/2021 18:53

I have a cat who loves being in a baby sling!

iloveeverykindofcat · 04/03/2021 23:53

Well I'm about to find out! My clingy girl dislocated her wrist yesterday in such a way as the joint needs plating together, it's being done tomorrow. They told me it's a nasty injury but she should recover fine and get total or almost total function back, provided I can stop her messing it up by running and jumping on it. She's on a big dog crate tonight and has just been demanding cuddles and her makeshift litter tray cleaned, hence me being awake right now. I ordered the sling yesterday. Glad to hear there are other cats that like it!

Kitties in slings, love it. There is however a distinct lack of photographic evidence in this thread. Grin

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 05/03/2021 07:35

I would have had my face macerated if I tried that with buns!! Where is the photo.

CoronaCurls · 05/03/2021 07:57

I'll have a look for a photo

iloveeverykindofcat · 05/03/2021 08:08

If Zara takes to the sling I'll post a photo.

TheLongRider · 05/03/2021 08:32

Yes, mine likes it too! I use an old scarf as the sling. I blame it on the fact that we found him abandoned in a hedge as a kitten. We were out for a walk and I carried him in my arms tucked up in my hoodie for 7km back to the house. He still likes being carried in my arms even though he now weighs nearly 4kg.

I had to crop myself out of the photo so it isn't a good one I'm afraid. He likes me to put the cover up so his face is completely under the material like a little nest

I am waiting for my slings to be delivered... I have bought 2. One for the baby (due June) and one for the cat :)

He is very clingy at the moment, and I want him to feel comfortable with baby stuff in the house, hence the double purchase

Oldraver · 05/03/2021 10:21

I tried as a kitten as he was so needy and lunged to me, but he wasn't that keen

@iloveeverykindofcat your poor kitty - how did that happen? I can't even imagine how to keep a cat on bed rest!

OP posts:
iloveeverykindofcat · 05/03/2021 10:46

@crazycatcoupe I'm not sure, she must have slipped or missed a jump on her climbing beams outside - she likes to go in and out of a window. Possibly the neighbour cat was agitating her and made her lose her footing. Its not exactly bed rest, she was in a big dog cage that she could also hold her temporary litter tray, food and water and she could move about a bit (I also cheated and let her on my lap for a while). She was pretty dopey on her painkillers yesterday anyway. After its fixed in place today, I'm not sure how much she'll have to be confined, probably a lot at first then less and less in the coming weeks. I think the main thing is to stop her trying to jump on it - luckily am wfh so can keep a close eye on her. Wish us luck though!

HugoTheKitten · 05/03/2021 13:24

How cute.

I joked with dh that I need a baby sling for Hugo because he follows me everywhere.

Elieza · 05/03/2021 17:34

Grinlove the pics

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/03/2021 17:51

@TheLongRider, that’s a minor detail. It’s not his fault he grew up big and strong.

Ilovemaisie · 05/03/2021 17:56

I saw an elderly pug being carried in a baby carrier recently. He had a massive grin on his face.

Evvyjb · 06/03/2021 06:36

When mine were teeny and needed socialising (feral colony rescues) husband and I used to wear a hoody backwards and pop them into the hood. Carried them around for hours like that! Now too big to fit (mr Smaug at 4.5kg and 7 months old...)
