My female cat Maggie is a lovely friendly cat, usually shy with others. She is indoor like our other 2 cats and we also have a 2 year old labrador. She usually prefers me, she will sleep beside me 9/10 and the other time be with my partner, but give it half an hour and she’ll go sleep elsewhere. She does her own thing typically in the day (sleep above the wardrobe).
However, last night she slept beside me for 4+ hours. She’s meowing back to everything I say to her (she only meows for food, she’s typically quiet - so quiet her meow is usually broken 😂) If i get up she runs with me, if i stand in the middle of the room she will walk around like she’s trying to find a way to sit on me, if not she’ll sit with my partner. As soon as I sit down she runs over and rubs her head everywhere and sleeps.
The dog had his dinner and had a bit of a playful 30 minutes and she stayed put, usually she runs off when he’s like that - she’s not his friend typically, hisses if he gets too close. I got up to go to the loo, came back and just stood to test if she was following and she was. She then went for the dog.. she doesnt do that unless he gets in her face which he wasnt he was playing with his toy. It was as if I hadn’t sat down quick enough. As soon as I did she jumped up but carried on hissing so i put her out of the room to calm down and she cried out. She’s eating, going to the toilet and has played but only with me not the others. Anyone else experienced something similar?
Sorry for the long post.. I don’t typically make them! If it carries on I’ll call the vet as it is such strange and random behaviour but can’t until the morning, just curious if anyone else has any idea!
