Cat has food intolerances to pouches

My 2 yo cat has some skin sensitivities secondary to food intolerances. She scratches a lot but has no fleas - gets monthly broadline and been given the all clear by the vet a good few times on the flea front.

Previously she was on two pouches and dry food per day. Now she's on one pouch (1/2 morning 1/2 evening) and dry food. I supplement this with a chicken breast and a tin of tuna over the week. But I want to remove the pouches all together. We're mostly vegetarian. I'm also worried about the cost of 'real good' for the cat. I don't know if Lidl would be any cheaper for chicken or turkey.

Any advice? The scratching has reduced since the pouches have reduced

What pouches were you giving her? With both wet and dry food some is better quality than others. Ours has Thrive (in tins) and occasionally Blink (pouches).
Chicken and tuna (in water only) is ok for now and again as it doesn't have all the nutrients a cat needs.
Ours sometimes has some boiled chicken or turkey breast to give his teeth a good workout!

You might be vegetarian, but cats aren't.

Worth trying Nature's Menu (grain free, human grade meat), or their Country Hunter range.

GCat doesn't have dry food, but has a couple of pouches a day, and has a tray of roasted chicken legs each week, to help his meds go down. I recommend the Lidl chicken legs, nor expensive, and split neatly into drumstick and thigh when roasted.

You could try some fish oil - massive pump from amazon for her skin

Thanks everyone

Chocolatespiders - is that a cream for the cat? The fish oil?

Thegcatsmother - do I need to take the legs out of the chicken leg?

You add this to the food.

Chocolatespiders did you give this toa cat or dog? I gave my cat salmon today and she didn't eat it!

I gave it to a cat. I added a few drops to normal food. It's a bit bottle though if cat won't have it.
