Changing from wet food to dry?

Hi there.
We have a lovely 2 year old female cat who currently eats a mixture of Felix As Good As It Gets and Purina Dry Food. She's very greedy and I fear is putting on a bit of weight.
She's recently started turning her nose up at various flavours of the wet food, which is annoying, and my husband hates the smell of it! But she does love it and purrs enthusiastically when I open the pouch...
Would it be unkind to swap her to a different (high quality) dry food instead and do away with the wet? I was thinking James Wellbeloved, or something similar. She drinks plenty of water so I don't think that's a problem. And she's also prone to upset tummies, so maybe dry food would help that as well?
Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

One of my cats only eats dry food (doesn’t like wet) and we give him iams as we found that the cheaper ones made his fur less soft and shiny. The vet told us that dry food is better for their teeth and it’s also easier to give them the right amount and give less if he starts gaining weight. He does drink a lot of water. You could always give a pouch of wet food at the weekend as a little treat.

That's a good idea.
Which Iams do you get? And do you mind me asking how ££ it is? Thanks
