Toe tufts - to trim or not to trim??

Hello fellow cat slaves!

After always having short haired cats I finally have my first ever fur explosion fluffy girl!

She has crazy long toe tufts between her pads of her back paws. Do these need trimming?? Just thinking about litter tray and getting dirt or poo stuck in them!

What does everyone else do? Picture of said tufts below ❤️

I think if you are a Siberian, Norwegian Forest or Maine Coon then yes the toe fluff has insulating and traction purposes. But if you are a DSH it is just to enslave your staff.

Okay the toe floof is staying.

Betsy says thankyou for saving the tufts!

@cricketmum84 she has spectacular whiskers!

Ooh those eyebrows Grin Those whiskers Grin

Does anyone else on here keep their cats' whiskers when they find a cast off one ?

We did with DCat 1 , all 8 of our guinea-pigs and now our Bro/Sis cats .
Just in a plastic bag on a fridge magnet not a shrine or anything weird Blush

Haha @Lonecatwithkitten she's like a walrus with those whiskers! She won't let me touch them though 😢

Toe fluff is great. But if you're braver than me, trim it to avoid DCatTokyo Drifting on the way into the living room.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

You collect cats' whiskers and keep them in a plastic bag on a fridge magnet??

Yeah - that's not weird at all ShockGrinGrinGrin

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2020 18:41

It’s very endearing though. Heaven knows what the cats make of it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/10/2020 19:27

Grin "Weird" would be if I collected their shed claws in a bag !

Their whiskers are a thing of beauty , on or off the cats .

You do know that's how women got themselves burned at the stake a couple of hundred years ago, don't you?

by admitting it

Halloween Grin Ha! and our cats are Black Cats ! Witches Cats !

I am destined for the Ducking Stool ..................

And .....oddly enough , our female was Betsy in her previous home , but we always change the names of our animals in their new homes .
