Two cats joined our family today! (includes photo)

These two came to live with us today. One male (the ginger/sandy tabby) and one female (the calico tortoiseshell), both middle-aged. They were originally from Abu Dhabi and have an Arabian Mau body shape.

They weren't from the same litter (he is a few weeks older) but have lived together since they were kittens. They've lived in the UK for the past few years.

We are experienced at looking after cats but haven't had a pair together for a while.

They're beautiful! Are they settling in ok?

Thank you. It's early days but they seem to be settling well so far. They are both affectionate and relaxed and not showing any signs of stress at the moment. The feliway diffuser is on. They currently have access to two adjoining rooms with their immediate needs (litter, food, water, high places, hiding places etc). If they continue to seem relaxed and comfortable then we'll offer access to more of the house tomorrow.

It's clear that they have been well-cared for and socialised in their previous home. Bella has played with a catnip toy and a feather toy dangled from an extendable wand. Max hasn't shown interest in any toys yet but has eaten some food.

Update: they were extremely keen to come out of their "base" this morning, and had explored the entire house by lunchtime. They have spent most of the afternoon napping in the new favourite spots they've found.
