This is my mums cat who does go out she appeared yesterday with this cut, took her to the vet and they gave her an antibiotic injection. I'm really surprised it hasn't been stitched as it seems deep but I'm no expert!

Bumping in the hope a vet will come along and advise.
I think I would be concerned if that was my cat but your mums vet must have made the decision that it didn’t need it, maybe give them a call tomorrow and ask them to explain to put your mind at rest.

Not a vet but I don't think that needs stitches. Plus if it's an unknown cause they might leave it open to allow to heal properly sealing certain 'dirty wounds (like bites etc) creates the risk of an abscess

That makes sense. I didn't know what to expect but when she said they hadn't stitched it I was really surprised.

Hmm I would stitch that, it looks nice and clean like it was done on something sharp I would get an appointment for the morning.
Sorry I didn't reply sooner our clinics are like war zones all day everyday.
