OMG there are kittens in my garden!!!

Was eating my lunch in the garden when this little beauty appeared at my feet! She said hello and wandered into the kitchen, and out again, then disappeared behind the tree stump and came back with a shyer, browner sibling (haven't caught that one on camera yet!) and they had a good explore together.

According to one of the neighbours they live in one of the houses behind us - which will set DH's mind at rest, he was clearly worried we'd acquired two more cats! I was a bit worried about our big ginger beast appearing and giving them their marching orders - instead he came out, clocked them, and hid under the garden table!

I'm being a responsible adult and not attempting to steal them - but I wish I could!! They're so gorgeous!

They're back for another visit!!

2 visits is nearly second ownership rights imo...

Casper came to the back spot, spotted a kitten, stared at it in alarm for a moment, then slunk back in as he hadn't really wanted to come out anyway...

If they reappear I'll pap them.

Of course! Here he is surveying his (currently kitten free) domain.

We had a neutered Tom of those proportions (also long haired) and when we had to wash him (he’d rolled in something oily and smelly) he shrank significantly...to something approaching a normal sized cat.

Caspar is glorious. We’d love another like that.

Growing up we had a cat that was very neglected (lived a few doors down) have kittens in our garden. She led my dad to them (hidden behind a tree) they ended up moving in until the kittens were big enough to leave home. We kept the mum, and got her neutered. They were all gorgeous

God, these pictures of Casper made me smile, we used to have a cat just like him when I was little but rarely see one like him again!

I've had a shouted conversation with the kittens' owner over the back fence - nice chap - and it turns out they are called Jasper and Tulip, that I was right in my feeling that the little grey one was a girl (Tulip) and the shyer browner one a boy, and they've been visiting several houses along our street and have gained quite a fan club!

Poor Caspar, intimidated out of his own garden by teenagers.

Casper is absolutely gorgeous!

Kittens are back, wearing smart new collars with jingly bells on them.

Casper made a valiant effort to see them off by growling at them. One of them hissed back at him and he hid under the table again.

He's under there now, alternately glaring at them and then at me, as if to say "why aren't you dealing with them?"

Why does this never happen to me 😢 Loving those little kitties and your gorgeous ginger boy. I have two huge ginger fluffy boys too. They are the best! I just love ginger floofy cats.
