Where do your cats sleep at night

Mine would love to be in bed with us but one in particular loves to sit on my head in the middle of the night Grin and the other lives to claw the bed so they have their own"bedroom".

Sons bed pretty much spends the days in his room aswell comes out for food then bk in think the she has picked up on my sons habit only see him when he wants food aswell 😂

eurochick · 05/05/2020 20:15

I'm amazed other cats sleep at night. Our seem to spend the hours of darkness tearing around the house like lunatics, knocking things over and falling off things loudly.

islandislandisland · 05/05/2020 20:15

On the bed next to me then when I wake up she hops onto my chest for cuddles and we doze together. She even puts her little arm round me Smile

Baker1985 · 05/05/2020 20:16

Should of said habit of staying in his room 😂

AnneElliott · 05/05/2020 20:18

Two on our bed and the other two with DS or on the sofa.

YahBasic · 05/05/2020 20:20

One on the foot of my bed - always my side & never DH’s.

The other rotates between the spare bed and the bath mat in the en suite. Sometimes a rug or DH’s jumper on the floor.

Itstartedinbarcelona · 05/05/2020 20:25

Mine sleeps in the utility room at night, with the door to the house shut. That way she can’t scratch at the door and wake us up in the middle of the night. She can get in and out of the garden through the cat door. She seems to be out most of the night.

funmummy48 · 05/05/2020 20:38

Ours have free access to the house via a cat flap but the doors to the downstairs rooms are shut at night so they can't come upstairs. They come and go as they please but usually we find one or other asleep on the sofa in the morning. There's often a little "gift" left for us too. 😱

Chewbecca · 05/05/2020 20:41

Shut downstairs at night in the room with her cat flap, food and heated bed.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 05/05/2020 20:43

Ours have a lot of sleep now they are older. Daytime - dds bed in the morning and afternoon on the spare bed because this is when they get the sun. Evenings in their actual cat beds in the lounge. Overnight they sleep on the bottom of our bed for a few hours then on the bedroom floor for a few hours.

They have insanity hour(s) 6am-8am then that conks them out for the day.

iklboo · 05/05/2020 20:57

One at my feet on the bed, the other where he feels like. Usually on a blanket on the couch or curled up on the landing where it's warm.

HappyBuyer · 05/05/2020 21:33

Both cats sleep at my feet on the bed, then at midnight (or so) move to the floor as I flip around during the night.

Dog sleeps downstairs in living room in his crate.

Nobody makes a peep until I wake up (turn on coffee machine), then ''the hell breaks loose'' - cats running around with ''warrior'' screams and dog demanding attention by half barks.

Feel a meanie and against the grain for saying this but our 2 boys sleep in “their” room ( it’s our utility) overnight.

They have their cosy (heated) beds, underfloor heating, toys and litter tray and it’s quite roomy. We don’t allow them out overnight. They can’t wait to go in there (their currently sat staring at me waiting for me to pop them in with some biscuits!) we put them in at around 10.30-11pm and we get them up about 6.30-7.

I would have them round the house at night but DH is a light sleeper and their crashing around would drive him nuts! But seems I’m in the minority with this set up :-). Our boys seem happy though.

SimonJT · 05/05/2020 21:48

On my bed, she has her own little blanket by my pillow.

speakout · 05/05/2020 21:51

In the conservatory at the back of the house. Doors closed and out of earshot.
I really don't want to be woken by a cat- at any time. My sleep is precious.

RandomMess · 05/05/2020 21:53

Shut away with 3 doors and a set of stairs between them and me as they would not allow me to sleep restfully...

VoyageInTheDark · 05/05/2020 21:55

He comes in to see me and DH at bedtime then goes on the spare bed. He's covered it in hair the little bugger

Flymetothetoon · 05/05/2020 21:56

Assuming they are in (now the nights aren't so cold) they are shut in the kitchen/diner where there are no carpets to destroy and no access to bedroom doors to wail at 🙀

user200000000 · 05/05/2020 22:01

He starts off on top of me, then moves to my pillow and then buggers off to whatever his favourite sleeping place is at the time.

Honeyroar · 05/05/2020 22:03

In summer they’re quite often outside all night, but in winter I shit them in. They sleep in the utility room which has the boiler in it and is the warmest room in the house. They have a lovely fluffy bed but prefer to squash themselves into a tiny wicker basket full of hats and gloves on top of the boiler!

Autumnrose9 · 05/05/2020 22:05

On top of the fridge and kitchen door shut. Otherwise would jump on our bed or scratch the curtains . Or sometimes likes licking the windows 😬.

Don't enjoy being woke up in the middle of the night to that

cushioncovers · 05/05/2020 22:10

On my bed by my feet.

InAGarden · 05/05/2020 22:11

Both sleep on chairs in the kitchen, they often happily sleep there in the day too. But at night kitchen door is shut, because they are both quite vocal in the morning when they want us to get up, so they stay there until we are up and about.

MrsFriskers · 05/05/2020 22:18

Mine sleeps on my feet, with one ‘elbow’ across them. Like she’s propping up the bar. Unless I have one particular duvet cover she doesn’t like on. Then she sleeps on my daughter’s feet.

Oriflamme · 05/05/2020 22:31

Mine don’t sleep at night, they’re busy - those mice won’t catch themselves! If they do sleep at night, it's in the same place as in the daytime - piled onto an old camping chair with a cushion on. Must be quite cosy for them!
