Does your cat A) knock the door and B) hump the dog?

Is that normal? The humping? (The door knocking is just cute Grin) He was neutered at 6 months old. He’s now 6 and has always humped the dog. Or any fluffy blanket on the sofa. The dog is never bothered by it.

Nothing to add I’m afraid. I have neither cat nor dog. But look forward to seeing other responses as you’ve given me a giggle.

This also made me giggle. We don't have a dog. Our lad gets up to all sorts of mischief but humping isn't one. He does sit on his back legs and kind of paw/bat doors with the front paws so you know he's there.

This boy does a “tap tap tap” on the door so his claws sound like someone with false nails tapping Grin my girl cat doesn’t do this. She just scratches along the bottom of the door until we open it. But boycat does a very distinctive knock and then sits waiting for us to open. Very polite boy. Except for the humping. Grin

My cat drags his claws down the mirror at 6am if he wants his breakfast. It is not a pleasant sound. He will continue to do it until he gets his breakfast. Not only that but he looks me dead in the eye while he does it.

Bastard.

Good job I love him 🥰

Not only that but he looks me dead in the eye while he does it.

Grin

At breakfast time (his, not mine) he runs into my bedroom and round to my side of the bed, looks at me, secures eye contact then runs back out again repeatedly until I get up.

Girlcat taps gently on the back of my computer chair if I ignore her other signs of wanting attention, so cute.

Humping is often a sign of domination, so in your case the cat would be telling the dog that he is master of the house (most likely true!)

Tried shutting the door??

YesItsMeIDontCare · 30/04/2020 11:12

Tried shutting the door??

😂

Bless. 😁

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 30/04/2020 11:58

Tried shutting the door??

Grin how would that stop him knocking the door? He knocks it because it’s already shut!

The domination thing is funny because boycat is most definitely bottom of the pecking order. Girl cat regularly reminds him of this. And ddog completely ignores him. Sometimes going as far as to sit on him if he’s on the seat DDog wants to sit on Grin

Boycat clearly trying to assert some authority over them!

He knocks on doors, although he can open the kitchen window so he just lets himself out. Fuck knows what’s wrong with the cat flap.

He doesn’t hump the dog, but he has commandeered DD’s left fake Ugg boot for humping purposes

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 30/04/2020 12:23

Just the left one?? Grin

OP posts:
Springersrock · 30/04/2020 12:25

Yes. He doesn’t like the right one.

DD stupidly wore them on a very muddy dog walk in the winter and the right one got very muddy. He’s fussy like that Grin

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 30/04/2020 12:27

Oh they’re picky gits aren’t they? Grin

Female Cat shreds the carpet at DD bedroom to be let in, I have to admit I sometimes push the door because at 3am I need my sleep and it isn't doing the carpet any favours .

She doesn't molest but she sometimes sniffs the undercarriage of the Male Cat while we clutch our pearls and gasp "That's your Brother you Philistine!"

We don’t have a dog but the little cat knocks on the door to go out. Then to come back in. Then to go back out again...and so on. The big cat would never demean herself by knocking. She just waits by the door because she knows she’s the boss and someone will come along soon to open the door for her Grin
