Obie the unfaithful is due his bi annual shave

Not that I've seen him for two months but his mistress phoned me this morning
I was due to book him in (yes I'm still paying for that) and then of course we went into lockdown..I'd waited because the weather was so miserable, but now of course he is a bag of matts... Thelma does the bits she can but he won't let anyone do his undersides and she's over 70... isolated and living alone so no one can even try and help.

He has the biggest, thickest double coat I've ever seen on a MC cat.. it's a nightmare.

Any idea of how she can try to reduce the matts until the vet reopens?

Does he enjoy a bath?

Let him pull them out?.

A vet and a Siberian cat owner here. I have this small dog pet teezer that works really well on her knits and I use it and this cat zoom groom to remove dead hair before it matts.

Oh, Dear. I'm so sorry Obie has abandoned you. You are so lovely still looking after him.

Hmm I wouldn't be letting her have him if she can't care for him properly.

Toddlerteaplease I don't get a choice sadly. He's always been unfaithful, always gone into multiple houses.. lets himself in through neighbours cmhjuat flaps and open back doors and stays!

Unfortunately his sister hates him and gradually he moved out 4 doors down to Thelma who is retired, and there all day. But she also can't afford to take on the bi annual costs of his grooming, and I can't just abandon him to be matted., so here we are.

I've been a Thelma. Cat hated me. Cat's owners became parents. Cat declared undying love and moved in. Used to get in open windows and race me for the door. It was me who found cat with a bad injury and arranged for the vet. Cat should have been kept inside and wasn't. I never used to keep cat inside at night because cat wasn't my cat. One day I wish I had. The End.
