Cat coming in smelling musky and making the house whiff

My boy is coming in from his night time adventures really strongly smelling of an animal musk- and leaves it wherever he sits. And I'm not keen on a cuddle as it's so overpowering.

I'm wondering if he's found someone with ferrets or something to go and spend time with.

Pew. Not sure it's worth trying to wash him, he'll only be going back.

Ugh. 🤢Missing my fluffy cuddles

It's in his fur- not originating from him

Ours get this - it's fox urine. I have assumed they have walked through a hole in the fence or somehow had to squeeze past/through somewhere the fox has sprayed. One cat will groom it off but with a look of disgust and the other prefers to ignore it and lounge on the sofa so he has to have a bath.

And by bath I mean I spray him with Nilaqua (from Amazon, pet shampoo that doesnt need washing off) which is more pleasant than either a bath or the fox smell.

Pet head do a lovely raspberry lemonade shampoo. I had it for my cat when she was first adopted.

What's the cat equivalent of a nice peppermint?
