Can I feed my 2yo cat food labelled as 7 plus?

I’ve obviously picked up the wrong pouches in the shop; is there any reason not to just give him them anyway? I imagine they have a different balance of nutrients (?) but if I intersperse them with his normal food? He is by no means picky about what he eats...

Any thoughts gratefully received!

I've done it myself! I wouldn't worry too much about it if it's a few here and there. Mine has free all lived long livesGrin

Would you like to share a photo of said un picky cat with us?

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 04/03/2020 14:45

Oh thank you - yes I wouldn’t dish them out all in the same week but just every now and then. Seems a shame to waste them (although the food bank would take them!).

I need to go through some photos actually, so will find one to post Smile

I think senior food has fewer calories so will probably result in more pleas for Dreamies.

Bingeslayer · 04/03/2020 16:50

What euro chicken said, just fewer calories, maybe more oil for joints

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 04/03/2020 16:55

Thank you both - extra Dreamies it is then. Anything to bribe him onto my lap!

Yes, it makes sod all difference.

amazedmummy · 04/03/2020 18:23

I bought it on purpose once because it was on clearance. They loved it and no harm done.

Burm · 04/03/2020 18:29

I think some of the senior pouches may be lower protein and phosphorous to help with slowing the onset of kidney disease down as well, but I'm sure a week or two of these pouches won't do any harm.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/03/2020 18:30

It’s more mushy.

fessmess2 · 04/03/2020 18:42

I thought you meant 2yo toddler!! 🤣

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 04/03/2020 20:48

Grin I would probably have insisted on kitten food for the toddler. I do have some standards!
