The one that came with the pronefra liquid is hard to use .Stiff and jerky in use . I've tried lots of hot water on it before loading and using .

It's also hard to use one handed .

Anyone know of a better one on the market ?

Just go to a chemist and ask for an oral syringe.

Can you add the Pronefra to food rather than syringing it? When Harry had it (for a very short while before he refused it) we added it into his wet food.

Thanks toddler - guessing by your name that you have experience of using syringes on small people .

Pink sadly adding to wet food or a knob of butterhasn't worked .

Harry stopped eating his food with Pronefra so we had to give up as he's got a week jaw and a lot of gaps where he lost his teeth (I'm not painting a pretty picture here am I?!) so we couldn't syringe it. After a bit of an argument with the vet he now takes Ipakitine in his food. The vet kept telling me Pronefra was better for him, but as I pointed out, it's only better if he'll take it!

@perdito, I'm a peadiatric nurse! My username refers to the way I have my tea!
I find my cats easier to medicate than small children!

Just make sure the replacement you get has the correct measurements as some medication syringes are in units rather than milliliters.

I discovered the tiny one that came with dc's junior ibuprofen was ideal, since then I've bought them from the pharmacy when needed.

I bought one from chemist today and yy viccat I need to check about doseage via a different syringe .

@toddler, surely you mean paediatric? Confused

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2020 02:57

Ha ha yes I did. No idea why I spelt it that way!
