Rehomed a kitten - is she Houdini?

We re-homed a kitten yesterday, she's 6 months old. Fairly timid but happy to have strokes and cuddles. We've been keeping her shut in the living room until she's settled, as we have another cat to introduce her to.

This morning we cannot find her. Anywhere. Nowhere in the living room. And it's impossible to get out. Please tell me this is normal, and where else should I look?!

And here's our older cat, he seems to be coping well. He knows she's here and seen her looking out the window. Grin

Grin you're older cat is coping well , he is employing "Scientific Neglect" ( aka "Ignoring" )

My two (identical ) like to gaslight us by swapping places . They have their own preferred spots but male cat (very shy) has started sleeping on the dining room chair and walking on he table to confuse me ( usually his sister's domain)

I lost the late Maia for 24 hours. She was hidden in a gap in the kitchen cupboards. I left her alive when I realised where she was, and finally met her 8 days later. (Fortunately I'd been pre warned by the foster carer that she would hide!)
