I still can't believe she survived, and touch wood it hasn't reoccurred. I'm a lucky lady too have her. Even if her insurance costs a fortune!

They go in the lift too.

I guess trying to get ponies up and down stairs could be tricky!
Imagine being put in the lift en route to the ward after a GA and a couple of ponies get in. I'd think I was hallucinating.

Loving the thought of PAT ponies in the lifts! Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 17/02/2020 21:54

Omg. I'd love that. I love alpacas!

I wonder if the pat pony/alpaca people have got badges saying ‘I patted a pony/alpaca today’. Ellmau’s link describes how much the residents with dementia liked the alpacas but if you have memory problems will visitors/other staff believe you if you say, ‘A pony/alpaca came to the ward/residents’ lounge today’?

Years ago a patient’s family were very worried because their dad was very confused and thought he was in a hospital in Wales. It was true that he was a bit disorientated after a massive heart attack but luckily I had heard one of the registrars talking to him in Welsh so I was able to explain what had happened.

We'd think our patient's were just a bit high on ketamine!
