Does anyone else’s cat supervise them cleaning their litter tray?

Toots is a lazy cat. You can barely get her out of bed sometimes

Yet every time I go near her litter tray to scoop it or clean it, she’s there like a shot.

She won’t leave until I’ve finished doing what I need to do.

It’s almost like she needs to approve the change before she will leave

Oh yes one of mine always comes running when I start cleaning it.
She will also run round like a cat on crack if the litter tray is not clean enough and she wants a pooh.
They both within 20/30 mins of fresh litter going down HAVE to shit it in too.Hmm

'Poop' lol. Are we all Americans now?

DCat uses her litter tray, then comes to complain that her palace now smells too bad for her dainty nose to tolerate.

This thread has made me smile and also feel a bit bad for thinking my little cat was just a little oddbod for being overly obsessed with a clean tray - she will appear from nowhere and leap in the absolute second its cleaned (and I do it every day, its not a rarity!). But I can see she's in good company. She also does the bombing around thing when she's done a 💩 and god forbid she does one and I've not noticed and scooped out within minutes, she's runs around crying - presumably at having a such a slattern slave!

You can get robotic self emptying litter trays. I wonder how the cats take to them.
