change of flea and worm treatment causing overgrooming?

We have 2 cats and a few months ago switched vets (to one closer to home). The cats were used to Profender worm treatment and Advocate flea treatment - no problems. The new vet supplies different products, Quantex worm treatment and Feliselecto Plus flea treament (though we were told they had basically the same ingredients). In the past few weeks, one of the cats has started overgrooming and has lost a lot of fur on the inside of his back legs and on his belly area. We have tried a Feliway plug-in for the past 3-4 weeks, in case it was stress related, but there's been no change. We will take him to the vets soon if no improvement, but he hates, and I mean really hates, going to the vet and is very aggressive to them when he's there, so that is not something we do unless we really have to - has anyone got any similar experience of the new products -Quantex worm treatment and Feliselecto Plus flea treament ? Thanks.

Can you not ask the vet if you can use the original products. I've never heard of the new ones you were prescribed (I use stronghold plus and profender)

Felisecto plus is The CVS groups own brand version of stronghold plus and quatax is their own brand tape worm treatments.
I am guessing then you are in your vet practice who is part of the CVS group health plan and these are the products they use as part of the heath plan.
Having their own products is what keeps their health plan so cheap so you will have to discuss this with your vet.
